Redressal Committees

STATUTORY COMMITTEES:

ST/SC CELL

As per the UGC Regulation, a Grievance Redressal Committee has been constituted for ABBS School of law, Bangalore with the objective of preventing unfair practices and to provide a mechanism to students, parents and others for redressal of their grievances.

The Committee is requested to Contribute effectively to address the grievances at the earliest. To register the compliant there is a separate Complain register kept in office of Law School. On receipt of the Compliant, the Member Secretary of the Grievance Redressal Committee will call Committee members, with information to the complainant on their day of Convenience. An aggrieved Student or Parent may appear in person to present his/her case.

SEXUAL HARASSMENT REDRESSAL COMMITEE 2022-2023

ABBS School of Law was established in 2018 and we are pleased to inform you that we have been running a “SEXUAL HARASSMENT REDRESSAL COMMITEE”. Since our inception which has been conducting awareness programs regularly to provide Education to students and provide healthy atmosphere. As per the UGC and Supreme Court Sexual Harassment Redressal Committee has been established by the colleges to provide a healthy atmosphere to the students of the colleges. Sexual Harassment Redressal Committee deals with issues that relating to sexual harassment. And this committee is formed to prevent sexual assault, rape and other related crimes on girls’ students.

INTERNAL COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE:

Complaints Committee was duly formed in the college to look into, and adjudicate matters relating to any kind of sexual harassment meted out to students or female employees in the institution. To that end the college has been vigilant about instances of gender discrimination, victimization and abuse, and acts promptly to address/redress any issues that violated the provisions of the said Act. Moreover, it plays a proactive role in averting instances of sexual harassment by motivating students to attend the programmes organized by the Women’s Cell of the college on gender discrimination, and sexual harassment.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS) CELL

ABBS School of Law was established in 2018 and we are pleased to inform you that we have been running a “NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME CELL” in collaboration with ABBS School of Management. since our inception which has been conducting awareness programs regularly to provide Education to students through service. This cell helps the student to grow individually and also in the group. Volunteering for various tasks under NSS Activities allows the students to become confident, develop leadership skills, and learn about different people from different walks of life. Students also learn about various life essential skills while working towards improving peoples living standards, thereby fulfilling the aim of NSS of providing help to everyone in need. The active NSS volunteers earn exposure and experience in becoming accomplished social leaders and efficient administrators.

NSS was introduced in 1969 with the primary objective of developing the personality and character of the student youth through voluntary community service. ‘Education through service’ is the purpose of this cell. The ideological orientation of the NSS is inspired by Mahatma Gandhi. The motto of NSS is “NOT ME, BUT YOU”.

REDCROSS SOCIETY :

Red Cross Society is made up of young people. Young volunteers can make a significant contribution to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people within their local communities through Red Cross youth programme.

ANTI RAGGING CELL :

The Anti-Ragging Committee will be the supervisory and advisory committee of a ragging-free environment on the college campus.

Objectives:

  • To build awareness of the effects of ragging and its consequences.
  • To keep a continuous watch over ragging and prevent its recurrence.
  • To promptly deal with the incidents of ragging brought to our notice.
LEGAL AID :
OBJECTIVES OF THE FREE LEGAL AID CLINIC:

  • Promote legal education and research.
  • Paralegal services by the faculty and the students.
  • Centre for practical professional training for students of law.
  • Spread awareness in the society about contemporary legal issues and developments.
  • Provide students necessary drafting and researching skills.
